Y = 6
The letter Y, the semi-vowel, was assigned the day after
Winter Solstice, the first full day on which the powers of the Sun begin to strengthen,
and a cause for special celebration. The Sun as consciousness ~ Tiphareth ~ the sixth
Sephira of the Tree of Life, is variously known as "Christ Consciousness,"
"Krishna Consciousness," "The Knowledge and Conversation of the Holy
Guardian Angel," the uniting of Subject with Object, ego-loss, Samadhi. Its
Macrocosmic symbol is the six-rayed star ~ the union of the upward-pointing triangle of
Matter with the downward-pointing triangle of Spirit. The shape of the letter Y is
suggestive of the Sun in the Microcosm: i.e. the phallus.
